Alluding to what it is made and caused by humans, benevolently and yet, indeed very intentionally as well. From biomes or anthromes, climate change, greenhouse gases, metabolism or anthroposphere, to hazards. All of these processes and interactions have reached a tipping point where “the spirit of time” has caught up with us to bound the imminent need to diligently address the resources that do not belong to us and nevertheless, we inherently need in order to secure our own self-subsistence on this earth.
The anthropogenic and natural dangers have become more noticeable than ever in the history of humanity. Environmental degradation has pushed us to cross the threshold of our own existence and to assume the human role as an integral part of ecosystems in the cycle of life on Earth.
The combination of materials such as sea sand and asphalt paint in the creative process of the artworks seeks to contrast the use of "bitumen" today as a byproduct of hydrocarbons and, on the other hand, also aims to be seen as an ancient vegetable tar with significant pre-Hispanic use. In doing so, it portrays the setbacks in our human lifestyle, ultimately leading us to question how we live sustainability in our daily lives.
